Important Announcement
Legal professionals should be aware that Texas requires anyone conducting evidence collections, digital forensics, evidence analysis, and related activities for use before a court, board, officer, or investigating committee to be licensed under Section 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code. Penalties for violating this rule include Class A misdemeanor both for the unlicensed person providing these services and for the person who hired them. In addition to the misdemeanor charges, this violation carries a maximum $10,000 civil penalty for each violation and felony charges for continued violation of the law.
